What are the characteristics of string pouches for food?

String food pouches are distinguished, first of all, by their practical closure in the form of a string. They can be opened and closed repeatedly, without the risk of losing their tightness. The contents are well protected from air, moisture and contamination.

The most common food string bags are made of low-density polyethylene - LDPE. This is a thicker film that is transparent. The products available from GRALA PACK are chemically neutral and, in addition, well suited for contact with food, which is confirmed by the PZH certificate awarded. The packaging can be personalized, if necessary, by adding your own imprint.

Ziplock pouches are extremely practical. It's always a good idea to have them on hand, as their uses are plentiful - both more and less typical.

Portioning and freezing food products

Speaking of food string pouches, many people immediately associate them with food portioning. All you need to do is divide them into smaller pieces and conveniently pack them, signing the package. Food so described can be stored freely in the refrigerator, but also in the freezer.

What foods can be packed this way? The list is long and includes:

• meats, fish, seafood,
• vegetables and fruits,
• cheeses,
• baked goods,
• herbs.

The pouches will even work well for ready-made dishes such as roasts, casseroles, bigos and soups.

Marinating and coating

Marinating and coating are activities that are often associated with a lot of mess. Food string bags can prevent this. Simply place all the marinade or coating ingredients inside and then add the food items.

If marinating, it's a good idea to rotate the package every so often. Using this way, you can use less marinade and evenly coat the food.

What about coating? After putting everything into the bag, you need to close it and shake it. This will ensure that the food is evenly coated with the coating - and all without dirtying your hands, dishes and countertop.

String pouches for food - packing food for work and travel.

Although food can be packed in boxes, this way does not always work well - they take up a lot of space and are sometimes not very handy. Therefore, it is worth trying pouches. You can put in them, for example, lunch for work or a child's second breakfast.

You can also easily reach for string bags when packing for a trip. They allow you to conveniently portion and carry coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pasta, etc. The tight seal effectively prevents the contents from spilling in the suitcase.

Other uses for food string bags

Ziplock bags are available in a variety of sizes. This is their additional advantage, which extends the list of applications:

• Storing leftover bulk products - such as porridge, pasta or rice. There is no need to keep several open packages in the cupboard, just dump everything into one bag.
• Rising yeast dough - brush a ball of yeast dough lightly with olive oil and put it in the bag so it can rise.
• Storing chips, nuts - it is not always possible to eat a whole packet of chips, nuts or other snacks. Then just pour the leftovers into a bag and seal it tightly to keep it fresh.
• Portion pet food - treats or dry crisps can be conveniently divided and stored without worrying about weathering.

In addition, food string pouches can be used to pack food for a trip out of town, a picnic, etc., or to wrap bottles in a travel bag.

Using food string pouches - practical tips.

When reaching for food string pouches, it is always a good idea to make sure that they are suitable for this purpose(certified by the National Institute of Hygiene). Sometimes it is not advisable to use the same bag again, for example, when it previously contained raw meat or food products with an intense odor. In such a situation, it is better to throw it away.

Pouches with frozen contents are best defrosted in the refrigerator, possibly in a bowl of cold water. This prevents the multiplication of bacteria. Also remember to put cold, cooled food in the bags.
